Leadership Transition letter from MWNN Board of Directors
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – After seven years of tireless work to further MetroWest Nonprofit Network’s (MWNN) mission and values, Anna Cross has announced that she will be departing from her role as Executive Director on June 30, 2023, to pursue new interests. Since 2016, Anna has led MWNN with innovation, dedication, and a collaborative spark. As the first full time Executive Director, Anna amplified MWNN’s voice and role as an essential support for small and medium nonprofits in the MetroWest community. Anna blended her previous experience in public education with her love of the community to develop new threads of connection and collaboration between organizations, towns and sectors that have transformed the lives of many. During her tenure, Anna has been the driving force behind MWNN’s growth and success as an organization with an eye toward increasing MWNN’s impact as well as that of partner organizations. She has developed new partnerships to better serve our communities. Initiatives have included:
- Implementing a robust program of monthly Lunch and Learns and affinity groups designed to create opportunities for dialogue, networking and sharing best practices.
- Building successful collaborations with partner organizations to address issues such as food insecurity, (MW Food Collaborative and Framingham Pandemic Emergency Food Line) community engagement (Voices of the Community and the Framingham State University Civic Engagement Initiative) and volunteerism and training through the MetroWest/MSA Volunteer Service Enterprise Program.
- Creating and implementing a new graduate level Nonprofit Certificate program in collaboration with Framingham State University which, in its first two years, has equipped 47 emerging nonprofit leaders with the skills and connections to lead effective organizations.
- Strengthening the MWNN organization by increasing the number of individuals and organizations participating in and accessing MWNN programs and services, and diversifying MWNN’s revenue model to ensure long term sustainability.
Anna’s vision and leadership will be greatly missed. We wish her the best of luck as she begins a new chapter.
This month, the Board will begin to conduct a thorough search to find MWNN’s next Executive Director. It is our priority to find a dynamic leader with a true passion for MWNN’s mission: to strengthen and support the MetroWest nonprofit community by connecting people and their organizations to resources, expertise, and each other. We welcome the input of the community and ask for your help in identifying candidates who can continue to grow MWNN’s impact on the MW nonprofit community.
